At end-september 2009, Compagnie des Alpes'shareholders totaled around 4,700 shareholders. Caisse des Dépôts, fournder of CDA in 1989, controls 39.5% of the capital and voting rights (double voting rights do not exist at CDA). Sofival became a shareholder in october 2007 and brought STVI (Val d'Isère) and other participations of 20% in Avoriaz, Valmorel et La Rosière and is the second largest shareholder with 8.6%. Other important shareholders are Crédit Agricole des Savoie (7.3%), Caisses d'Epargne (5.3%) and Banque Populaire des Alpes (4.3%). All these shareholders are represented on the company's Directors Board.
Free float stands at 35%, of which around 14% is held by foreign investors. In 2005 UK investment fund M&G exceeded the 5% threshold, and held 11.2% on 30 september 2009. This shareholder has held a stake continuously since CDA'stock market flotation in 1994.
Employees are Compagnie des Alpes shareholders via an investment fund, with contributions from the Group, which held 2.3% of the capital at end September 2009.
