Founded in 1954, Bellewaerde Park is one of Belgium’s most iconic leisure destinations. Located in Ypres (West Flanders), it uniquely combines a family amusement park, a recognised wildlife park, and a preserved natural environment across 54 hectares.
With nearly 30 attractions and around 300 animals representing 36 species, Bellewaerde Park offers a complete experience at the intersection of leisure, discovery, and biodiversity awareness. Recognised as a zoological organisation by Belgian authorities, the park partners with EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria) and WWF, actively contributing to the protection and reintroduction of endangered species such as the Amur leopard, European bison, and Rothschild giraffe.
Ongoing and structured investment strategy
For several years, Bellewaerde Park has pursued an ambitious investment strategy to renew its offering and strengthen its position as a leading family park. This has included the creation of new themed areas, modernization of existing attractions, and improvement of visitor facilities, while maintaining a careful balance between rides, animals, and nature.
The Amazonia attraction was voted Best European Attraction 2025 at the Park World Excellence Awards, recognising its immersive design, theming, and innovative family experience. The same year, Bellewaerde Park was also named Best Amusement Park in Belgium at the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice – Best of the Best 2025, ranking in the European Top 10 and the global Top 25 of amusement parks.
A leading local employer
As one of the region’s major employers, Bellewaerde Park prioritises employee engagement, training, and service quality in its HR strategy. The park has been recognised for several years as the “Belgian park with the best personnel” at the Diamond ThemePark Awards, highlighting the importance it places on both human experience and visitor experience.
