Opened in 1989 and operated by Compagnie des Alpes since 2002, Parc Astérix is one of France’s most iconic leisure parks. A flagship site within the Group’s strategy, the park has successfully extended its operating season through a strong events programme and the development of immersive and authentic themed hotels, while remaining true to its identity and environment.
Located in Plailly (Oise), close to Paris, the park draws on the world of Astérix to offer an experience built around immersion, humour and intergenerational enjoyment. As one of the first parks to join Compagnie des Alpes, Parc Astérix has established itself as a testing ground for innovations combining attractions, shows, digital solutions and event-based experiences.
The development strategy of Parc Astérix is notably based on the progressive extension of its operating season, with major events now established throughout the year – Gallic Summer, Peur sur le Parc (Halloween season) and Gallic Christmas – together with a continued strengthening of immersion at the heart of the visitor experience.
This momentum is supported by a structured hotel development strategy aimed at positioning the park as a short-stay destination. Parc Astérix currently operates three hotels – Les Trois Hiboux Hotel, La Cité Suspendue and Les Quais de Lutèce – representing around 450 rooms and helping attract visitors from further afield while extending the experience beyond the park visit itself. In 2025, construction also began on the park’s fourth hotel, certified under the HQE sustainable building standard.
This strategy has been recognised through several distinctions in themed hospitality, including the SNELAC Sustainable Entertainment label and the Green Key certification awarded to Les Trois Hiboux Hotel. Long committed to environmental challenges, Parc Astérix is located within the Oise Regional Natural Park and works closely with local stakeholders to preserve and enhance natural areas. The park is certified ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, reflecting a structured approach to quality, environmental management and energy performance.
Records and ambitions
In 2024, Parc Astérix reached a new attendance record with nearly 3 million visitors, confirming its position as the second most visited theme park in France. This continued success is supported by the constant renewal of its offering, as part of a strategy focused on upgrading and continuously enhancing the visitor experience. Parc Astérix has also launched a €250 million investment plan through to 2030, including new attractions, retheming projects and further hotel development, with the ambition of entering the Top 5 European theme parks.
