Méribel: a gem at the heart of the 3 Vallées
Nestled in the heart of the Tarentaise valley, in Savoie, the resort of Méribel traces its origins back to the 1930s. From its very beginnings, the development of the ski area and its villages was built around a strong commitment: preserving the alpine authenticity and natural environment that today make the 3 Valleys world-renowned.
Throughout its history, Méribel has also made its mark on the international stage by hosting major high-level sporting events, including the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympic Games, the Alpine Ski World Cup finals of 2016 and 2022, as well as the women's events of the Courchevel-Méribel 2023 Alpine Ski World Championships. These events have strengthened the resort's global reputation and confirmed its excellence in terms of infrastructure.
Méribel's ski area offers a wide variety of winter activities suited to all ages and abilities. From alpine skiing to fun parks and areas dedicated to new sliding sports, the resort provides an ideal playground to enjoy the mountains in Savoie, in the French Alps, up to a maximum altitude of 2,740 m at the summit of the Saulire.
Méribel is also connected to the thermal spa resort of Brides-les-Bains via the Olympe gondola, a true link between the two destinations in both winter and summer, and which is the subject of its own public service delegation between Brides-les-Bains and the CDA.
Méribel is equally renowned for its appeal during the summer season. Modern lifts, varied descents and a wide range of services make this iconic resort a unique experience where sport and leisure combine harmoniously, in winter as in summer.
