Inaugurated in 2003 and located in the Leipzig region of Germany, Belantis has welcomed around 300,000 visitors in recent years. Spread over more than 80 hectares, including 41 hectares available for future expansion, the park boasts significant growth potential: thanks to this strategic location and its ambitions, Belantis aims to become a true benchmark in the region.
This iconic park, one of the 10 largest in Germany, combines immersive attractions, carefully designed theme worlds, and family shows to offer visitors an unforgettable experience. With 9 themed worlds and over 60 experiences, including 27 attractions, 3 shops, and 6 dining outlets, Belantis welcomes families from all over Germany and neighbouring regions every year.
Since its inception, the park has focused on escape, discovery, and imagination. Inspired by the travel tales of its mascot Buddel, Belantis transports visitors through time and space: from the pyramids of ancient Egypt to medieval castles, pirate coasts, and mysterious temples.
The offering is aimed at children from 4 years old as well as thrill-seekers, providing attractions for all tastes, including Europe’s largest pyramid housing a spectacular water ride, the vertiginous Huracan roller coaster, which reaches up to 85 km/h after a 32-meter freefall, and La Chevauchée du Dragon, a family roller coaster set in the world of knights. Interactive shows also allow children to participate alongside the park’s characters.
A gradual transformation by 2030–2031
In December 2025, Belantis announced its transformation into the first Parc Astérix outside France, with a name change planned for 2030–2031. This transformation will take place gradually to support visitors and enhance existing infrastructure. The strategic choice is based on the strength of the Astérix brand, the weight of the German market – the second-largest global market for the Astérix comics – and the site’s capacity to accommodate a gradual increase in attendance. The first step of this transformation will take place in spring 2026 with “Idéfix’ Abenteuerland,” a family zone primarily dedicated to families with children.
