Training and employability

At Compagnie des Alpes, training is more than a responsibility - it’s a genuine commitment shared by all the subsidiaries.

The Group pursues a proactive in-service training policy. Developing the skills of each person, regardless of their status or length of service, improves their employability both within and outside the Group.

PRE-HIRING OPERATIONAL PREPARATION (POEC)

The POEC pre-hiring operational preparation scheme rolled out at Parc Astérix, Walibi Rhône Alpes and Futuroscope in 2015 trains job-seekers for employment at CDA while developing their overall employability by offering bespoke training courses leading to qualification. This pioneering scheme developed by CDA in partnership with AFDAS and Pôle Emploi has attracted the attention of SNELAC, now a partner. The courses offer professional qualifications mainly in sales, leisure services and hotel and catering professions. Trainees acquire a versatile set of practical skills that can be applied across a wide range of sectors. They are free to choose their employer at the end of the training period. For those who join the Group, induction is faster, commitment is stronger and they are soon able to make their own contribution towards Very High Customer Satisfaction. In the ski areas, the scheme is used to develop essential skills for tourist industry jobs.

QUALIFIED SEASONAL WORKERS

In ski areas, the quality of the offering also relies on training seasonal staff to become experts.
Given technological advances in machinery and equipment, evolving customer service expectations, and safety requirements for both staff and guests, we ensure that all our employees (groomer and chairlift operators, operations agents, snowmakers, etc.) stay up to date with the latest developments required for their roles.
In 2025, more than 1,400 seasonal employees had their expertise formally recognised through the acquisition of professional certifications.
