Created in 1987, Futuroscope is France’s first theme park. Located in the Vienne department near Poitiers, it joined Compagnie des Alpes in 2011. Welcoming over 2 million visitors each year with more than 40 attractions and shows, the park’s identity is built on immersion, innovative technologies, and original storytelling at the heart of the visitor experience.
A leisure destination turned resort
Since 2024, Futuroscope has taken a new step with Futuroscope Xperiences, an integrated leisure resort combining the theme park, the indoor water park Aquascope, themed hotels, and Arena-Futuroscope for shows and events. The resort is now positioned at a European level, designed for extended stays day and night.
Strategic investment plan through 2030
This transformation is part of a €300 million investment plan to 2030, led by Compagnie des Alpes, the Vienne Department, and Banque des Territoires. It includes major attractions such as Objectif Mars, the park’s first roller coaster, and Chasseurs de Tornades, voted Best Attraction by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA). The plan also supports the expansion of the site with new infrastructure for hotels, leisure, and events.
Hotels at the heart of the visitor experience
Hotel development is a strategic pillar for Futuroscope. Following the 2022 opening of Station Cosmos, designed as a space base with its experiential Space Loop restaurant, the site welcomed Ecolodgee in 2023, with lodges integrated into a natural setting. Today, an increasing share of visitors stay for two days or more.
Technological expertise
Futuroscope also leverages its technical know-how through its subsidiary Futuroscope Maintenance et Développement, providing consulting, engineering, deployment, and maintenance of high-tech attractions in France and internationally. Projects include the 4D projection room for Attention Menhir! at Parc Astérix.
Long-term environmental commitments
Committed to sustainability, Futuroscope is ISO 50001-certified for energy performance. Its environmental policy focuses on energy, waste management and reduction, water resource preservation, biodiversity, and soft mobility. Key initiatives include:
- Since 2020, 100% of the park’s electricity comes from renewable sources
- Night show bleacher benches are made from 7,000 recycled TETRA PAK bricks
- Urine-to-fertilizer conversion devices in collaboration with Toopi Organics save over 2,000 m³ of water per year
- By 2025, 600 electric vehicle charging points will be installed in the park’s parking lots
