Opened in 1989 and operated by Compagnie des Alpes since 2002, Parc Astérix is one of France’s most iconic leisure parks. As a flagship of the Group’s strategy, the park has successfully extended its season through events and the development of original, authentic hotels, all while respecting its identity and environment.
Located in Plailly (Oise), near Paris, the park leverages the world of Astérix to offer an immersive experience based on humour, adventure, and intergenerational sharing.
As one of the first parks to join Compagnie des Alpes, Parc Astérix has become a testing ground for innovations combining attractions, shows, digitalisation, and event-based experiences. Its development relies on gradually extending the season with key highlights throughout the year, and on strengthening immersion at the core of the visitor experience.
This dynamic approach is complemented by a structured hotel development strategy, positioning the park as a short-stay destination. Parc Astérix currently operates three hotels with around 450 rooms, capturing long-distance visitors and extending the experience beyond the park itself. In 2025, construction will begin on a fourth HQE-certified hotel.
The park’s strategy has been recognised with several international awards in themed hospitality. Long committed to environmental issues, Parc Astérix is located in the heart of the Oise Regional Nature Park and works closely with local stakeholders to preserve and enhance natural spaces. The park holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 certifications, reflecting a structured approach to quality, environmental management, and energy performance.
Records and ambitions
In 2024, Parc Astérix reached a new attendance record with nearly 2.9 million visitors, confirming its position as the second most visited leisure park in France. This sustained success relies on the continuous renewal of its offerings, in line with its strategy of premiumisation and continuous improvement of the visitor experience. The park has also launched a €250 million investment plan through 2030, including new attractions, re-theming projects, and hotel development, with the ambition of entering the top five leisure parks in Europe.
