Opened in 1979 as Avenir Land, Walibi Rhône‑Alpes is today one of the leading regional leisure parks in France. Spanning around 35 hectares, it offers over 30 attractions and shows for families. The park’s positioning balances thrills, family-friendly experiences, and events throughout the season.

A major transformation since 2015

Since 2015, Walibi Rhône‑Alpes has been implementing a comprehensive transformation plan aimed at strengthening its identity and appeal. This programme has included the creation of new themed areas and the progressive modernisation of the park. Key milestones of this transformation include the development of new zones and immersive themed districts, renewing the visitor experience and enhancing the park’s overall quality.

Iconic attractions and a refreshed offer

The park relies on flagship attractions to define its character. Among them, Mahuka, a major ride inaugurated in 2024, regularly recognized by industry professionals and the press. The park also features an extensive aquatic offer, with several water attractions and areas, enhancing its appeal during the summer season.

Strong attendance growth

In 2025, Walibi Rhône‑Alpes welcomed 616,000 visitors, marking the second-best season in its history. This success is supported by well-identified seasonal highlights, such as WAAAlloween and Merry ChristWAAAs, which structure the annual calendar. Attendance remains predominantly regional, confirming the park’s role as a local destination while attracting visitors from neighboring regions and countries.

A committed local player

Walibi Rhône‑Alpes actively contributes to local economic development. More than half of its purchases and investments are made in the region, and each season the park recruits several hundred employees, primarily from the local workforce. This strong territorial presence aligns with Compagnie des Alpes’ strategy of sustainable local anchoring of its leisure sites.

Concrete environmental commitments

As part of the Group’s environmental commitments, Walibi Rhône‑Alpes implements concrete actions in energy transition. The park is involved in a photovoltaic canopy project on its parking lots, combining renewable electricity production with solutions for electric vehicle charging. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to reduce the site’s environmental footprint while improving visitor comfort.
