In September 2021, Compagnie des Alpes acquired the Evolution 2 brand, taking a 60% majority stake in 10 licensed Evolution 2 companies across the Alps, including 5 within Group resorts. This acquisition aligns fully with the Group’s strategic priorities regarding the diversification and development of mountain summer activities.
The Evolution 2 adventure began in 1987, born from a passion for the outdoors. Thirty years later, more than 500 field professionals embody the brand, keeping its original spirit alive while placing customer satisfaction at the heart of its approach. The mission: share the passion for outdoor activities and offer unforgettable experiences in exceptional environments.
Whether in summer or winter, Evolution 2’s activities revolve around four main segments:
- Adventure – designing bold sports and tourism experiences across 24 destinations
- Snow sports schools – with more than 15 facilities dedicated to skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports
- Events – organising ski competitions, mountain bike rallies, and more
- MICE – offering team-building activities, seminars, evening events, and bespoke programs
Renowned for its expertise, Evolution 2 opened its training centre in 2019, fully dedicated to outdoor professions, combining recognized professionals with a hands-on teaching approach. Based in Tignes and open year-round, the Pro Outdoor Academy offers several courses—including ski instructor, mid-mountain guide, and mountain bike instructor—designed to support trainees into the workforce and help them transform their passion into a career.
The brand also organises the French Freeride Series, a national ski and snowboard competition circuit qualifying for the Freeride World Tour. In 2022, the Evolution 2 events team extended its expertise to Georgia, coordinating the launch of new qualifying competitions for the Freeride World Tour.
