Founded in 1975, Walibi Belgium is the first park created under the Walibi brand. Located in Wavre, in the heart of Belgium, it stands as one of the country’s leading leisure destinations. Renowned for the quality and originality of its attractions, Walibi Belgium appeals to a broad audience, combining thrill rides, family experiences and immersive themed environments.
Walibi Belgium has built a strong identity around thrills and innovation. Iconic attractions such as Dalton Terror, Belgium’s first free-fall drop tower, and Psyké Underground, a fully enclosed roller coaster with a unique concept, have left a lasting mark on the park’s history. More recently, attractions such as Kondaa, a megacoaster reaching 50 metres in height and recognised as the tallest and fastest in the Benelux, Popcorn Revenge, an immersive interactive dark ride, and Mecalodon, the world’s first Family Airtime Coaster, illustrate the park’s ability to continuously renew its offering. This DNA, combined with a sustained capacity for innovation, enables the park to maintain a leading position in its market, both among visitors and industry professionals.
The “Grand Walibi” investment plan
Between 2018 and 2025, Walibi Belgium implemented a major investment programme called “Grand Walibi”, led by Compagnie des Alpes. With a total budget of €100 million, this programme aimed to transform approximately 75% of the park’s surface area, marking a major evolution of the site.
The park is now structured around immersive themed worlds that clearly organise the visitor journey. Areas such as Exotic World, Karma World, Fun World and Dock World now form the backbone of the park. This approach strengthens immersion, diversifies experiences and enables the park to appeal to a wide range of audiences while reinforcing a strong identity.
The park was notably recognised at the Park World Excellence Awards 2025, where Dock World received the award for Best Use of Theming of the Year, highlighting the quality of immersion, storytelling and attraction integration within its narrative environment.
A long-term event strategy
Walibi Belgium relies on a well-established event strategy that has become a key driver of its attractiveness. The Halloween season, developed over more than twenty-five years, represents a major highlight in the calendar and contributes strongly to the park’s identity. More recently, the park has also launched Walibi Winter, a winter season transforming the site into a festive environment featuring several themed areas, entertainment and seasonal experiences.
