Serre Chevalier: a land of experimentation, a true laboratory with a long-term vision for sustainable mountain holidays
The largest ski area in the Southern Alps, operated by CDA via Serre Chevalier Vallée (SCV), Serre Chevalier is also one of the largest ski areas in Europe, accessible to all levels, with 80% of its surface area located above 1,800 m.
Nestled against larch forests typical of the region, the resort links three villages as well as Briançon, a town of over 10,000 inhabitants—a unique configuration in France.
The resort’s ambition is supported by a major investment programme to enhance the customer journey, develop smooth-flowing traffic across the area, and actively contribute to the future economic growth of the valley and the sustainable development of the region.
To guarantee optimal skiing conditions throughout the season, the resort is equipped with an extensive artificial snow network covering a third of its surface. A true pioneer in sustainable commitments, Serre Chevalier Vallée undertakes actions to limit environmental impact, aiming to offer the best compromise between snow quality and resource preservation.
